Wine Up! Guide 2026: a landmark edition celebrating 20 years of Wine Up Consulting
The Wine Up! Guide 2026 is now available as a free download. This 27th edition carries special significance, commemorating the twentieth anniversary of Wine Up Consulting (2006–2026) — two decades bridging producers and consumers from an independent and rigorous standpoint.
Created and directed by Joaquín Parra, the publication — a pioneer in Spain for adopting a fully digital format in 2013 — has accumulated over one million downloads throughout its history.
1,127 references · Average score 91.56 pts · Average price €18.21
The 2026 edition includes tasting notes on 1,127 wines, vermouths and spirits, with an average score of 91.56 points and an average market price of €18.21. The guide also features a directory of over 3,250 Spanish wineries, making it one of the most comprehensive databases in the sector.
Only references reaching or exceeding 85 points earn a place in its pages, upholding the quality standard that has defined the publication from the very beginning.
Blind tasting: the guarantee of impartiality
As in previous editions, all tastings have been conducted entirely by Joaquín Parra at the God Save The Wine tasting room in Tomelloso, in strict blind format. This single, consistent criterion is the defining hallmark of the guide and the foundation of its credibility among professionals and enthusiasts alike.
Wine Person of the Year and TOP 100
This year, the title of Wine Person of the Year 2026 goes to Quim Vila, in recognition of his vision, intellectual consistency and transformative impact on the way wine is distributed and understood in Spain.
In strictly oenological terms, the TOP 100 crowns Pago de los Capellanes Tinto Parcela El Picón 2021 (D.O. Ribera del Duero) as the number one wine in the still and sparkling category, with an exceptional score of 97.54 points. In the fortified wine category, the top position goes to Tío Pepe Cuatro Palmas Amontillado (D.O. Jerez) by González Byass, with a remarkable 99 points.
The Best In Class awards identify the finest wines by category — sparkling, organic, white and red — as well as the best value picks across price ranges, from references under €6 to those above €30.
An interactive digital format and a renewed website
Thanks to its advanced digital format, the guide allows readers to make purchases, contact wineries or browse their social media profiles directly from within the document — without ever leaving it.
This launch also coincides with the unveiling of the new design of www.wineup.info, celebrating 18 years of uninterrupted history this April.
Joaquín Parra’s full tasting archive, now at www.wineup.info
The renewed www.wineup.info hosts the complete historical archive of wines tasted by Joaquín Parra over more than 25 years as a wine critic — one of the most extensive independent tasting records available in any language. An essential reference database for wineries, trade professionals and enthusiasts seeking to trace the evolution of any reference ever assessed by the Wine Up! Guide.
